Vallejo is in close proximity to the major employment and tourist areas in the region, approximately 9 miles from Napa, 32 miles from San Francisco, 22 miles from Oakland and 47 miles from Sacramento. Vallejo is well connected to these areas via I-80 and I-780 as well as Highways 37 and 29. San Francisco is less than an hour away by the Vallejo Baylink Ferry. Traveling by air is also convenient, as Vallejo is within 50 miles of San Francisco, Oakland and Sacramento international airports. Commercial transportation flows quickly and efficiently to businesses in Vallejo; in addition to being close to four major highways, Vallejo is convenient to the regional ports of Oakland, San Francisco and Richmond.

Vallejo Baylink Ferry

The Vallejo Baylink Ferry is the best way to avoid gridlock and enjoy fast, comfortable and reliable service to and from San Francisco. Fourteen scenic trips per day Monday – Friday and nine per day Saturday – Sunday depart Vallejo aboard high-speed catamarans, arriving 55 minutes later at the San Francisco Ferry Building Marketplace and on selected trips to Pier 41 at Fisherman’s Wharf. Passes are available for a full day, one-way, groups, 10-ride and monthly. Special reduced fares are also available for seniors 65+ and children ages 6 -12. Vallejo Transit

Vallejo Transit bus service consists of seven regular transit routes in the city of Vallejo, supplemental school service routes, one connection route to BART, and one route to San Francisco that complements the Vallejo Baylink Ferry service. Vallejo Transit runs regular service Monday through Saturday (limited service is available on Sunday). There are two transit bus terminals in Vallejo: York & Marin Transit Center in downtown Vallejo, and Sereno Transit Center between Sonoma Boulevard and Broadway. One-way adult and youth passes are available, plus special rates for seniors 65+. 10-ride tickets and monthly passes are also available. Solano/Napa Commuter Information

Solano/Napa Commuter Information (SNCI) is the one-stop transportation information resource for residents, visitors and employers in Vallejo, Solano and Napa Counties. SNCI is a program that helps commuters find commute alternatives such as carpooling, vanpooling and public transit. SNCI also works with employers to develop transportation solutions for employees including survey assistance, on-site presentations, commuter guides, commuter incentives and vanpool program assistance.
